Flying Over You

One day I’ll walk upon the sand

And wonder where I am

Somewhere familiar

One day I’ll be what I can be

What you never thought of me

And the mem’ries linger

You burned all of your bridges

But that’s alright with me

Flying over you

And I never did understand you anyway

That’s ok

You’re somebody else now to me

Don’t you see this is me

And I don’t know what I am fighting for

So I’m out the door

Sitting here staring at the sky

And I can’t help but wonder why

I keep coming back here

Just like the moth drawn to the flame

I keep calling out your name

But no one’s here

You left with all the answers

To the questions, I would never ask

Flying over you

And I never did understand you anyway

That’s ok

You’re somebody else now to me

Don’t you see, this is me

And I don’t know what I am fighting for

So I’m out the door

Flying over you

And I never could quite believe you anyway

That’s ok

It never much seemed to matter

Don’t you see, this is me

And there’s nothing you can do to change my ways

We’ve already lived those days
